Trip to Bangalore, day two

Bangalore has a lot of differences to Mumbai, but also a lot of similarities. The biggest difference is climate. It is far more comfortable. Not so humid, it is still warm, warm enough for bare foot on stone floor and T-shirt, but not hot, not so that the sweat just pulls out. The second big difference is the parks. Bangalore has very much small or big parks, which makes the city lovely.

At noon time I met once again with Arun Ram and Sundar L, who are organizing the indian chapter of WMF. It was supposed a short meeting of 15 minutes or half an hour for coffee, but it ended up to a three hour meeting. We talked about a lot of things, about what the indian chapter is doing or supposed to do, about the foundation, the chapters and their relations, about the procedure to apply as a chapter.

After that Achal took his girlfriend and me to a concert. It is a concert of his teacher's students. I believe it was carnatic music. Really too bad that I don't understand anything about it. Two weeks is too short for a culture with such a long history. Just before the concert as we were waiting I made the remark about my view of sari. Achal and his girlfriends burst into laughter and said, that some ladies in sari are not decent at all. It was again something that I had not known at all until that moment.

Unfortunately Achal was the last to sing, and I had to go to airport before. I would so much liked to hear him singing. The taxi driver is a young boy, maybe just twenty or something like that, and he drove as if he is Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious.

I got back to my hotel in Mumbai at 23:00.
