Avert Society

In four weeks we would begin our in-country-experience. We received our partner and our Statement of Work. Our team will work for five partners, four NGOs that are working in the fields education, development, volunteersorganization and healthcare and the Mumbai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Miguel from Mexico and I will work for the Avert Society, an organization that helps to build up infrastructures to battle, prevent AIDS and take care of victims. Our task would be support the NGO to build up their Information and Communication Technology and Management Information System. We will have our first call with the management of our partner in India this week and will work in more detail about what we will do and how we can help.

For me it is an especial pleasure to have the possibility to actively support in the battle against this most evil scouge of the humanity since the end of last century.

Before that there are though still technical problems to solve. I was in the General Consulate of India in Frankfurt the day before yesterday to apply the visa. The officer told me that the application would take up to between 30 and 40 days. Because my depart is scheduled for September 5th this could be very critical.

In vier Wochen werden unser In-Land-Projekte beginnen. Wir haben jetzt unsere Partner und Beschreibung unserer Arbeit erhalten. Unser Team werden für fünf Partner arbeiten, vier NGOs in Bereichen Erziehung, Entwicklung, Freiwilligenorganization sowie Gesundheit and das Bombay Handels- und Industriekammer. Miguel aus Mexiko und ich werden für das Avert Society arbeiten, eine Organization, die sich als Ziel gesetzt haben, Infrastrukturen im Kampf gegen AIDS aufzubauen. Unsere Aufgabe wird sein die NGO beim Aufbau ihrer Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie sowie Managementinformationssystem zu unterstützen. Morgen werden wir unsere erste Telefonat mit der Management unseres Partners haben, um genauer zu erörtern was wir tun werden und wo wir helfen können.

Es freut mich besonders aktiv im Kampf gegen diesen schlimmsten Geißel der Menschheit seit der zweiten Hälfte des letzten Jahrhunders teilnehmen zu können.

Bevor dies geschieht müssen noch andere technische Probleme gelöst werden. Vorgestern war ich im Generalkonsulat von Indien in Frankfurt und habe mein Visu beantragt. Der Beamter sagte mir dass es bis zu zwischen 30 und 40 Tagen dauern könnte. Da der Flug von mir für den 5. September geplant ist, könnte das sehr kritisch werden.

我们的在印度项目在四个星期里就要开始了。我们获得了合作对象的名单和任务描述。我们共有五个合作对象，四个从事教育、发展、志愿者组织和卫生事业的非政府组织以及孟买工商会。来自墨西哥的米格尔和我将在Avert Society工作。这个组织的目标在于帮助防御和阻止艾滋病的扩展以及照顾病人。我们的任务将是帮助这个组织改善其信息和通讯技术以及管理信息系统。明天我们将与合作对象的经理人员通话来进一步定义我们的工作。

我非常高兴能够帮助对上世纪后期以来人类面临的最恶劣的疾病的斗争。

不过此前还有其它技术问题需要解决。昨天我去印度驻法兰克福的领事馆。那里的官员告诉我签证可能需要30至40天时间。我在9月5日就得出发，因此这可能会非常紧。
